HSAA launches caring hands communication campaign

This campaign accurately depicts HSAA/NUPGE members as professionals who not only bear skill and training but also compassion, humanity, kindness and a dignified strength.

Edmonton (01 Oct. 2015) — The Health Sciences Association of Alberta (HSAA/NUPGE) has always believed that our members display a wide and impressive array of skills and talents but also an unyielding passion for all that they do.

To echo that message in the most poignant way possible, we are proud to present our Caring Hands campaign that will not only enhance the public’s knowledge about the breadth of HSAA/NUPGE members’ areas of expertise but will also put a face to the hardworking hands. There are so many HSAA/NUPGE health-sciences experts in countless locations province wide and it is a daunting task, albeit an important one, to let both members and the public at large understand how vital and pervasive the impact of our members’ expertise really is.

Caring hands are a symbol of skilled, healing, compassionate health care professionals

There isn’t anything more symbolic of human care and caring than our hands. It is the human touch that evokes so much of what health-care professionals do through skilled hands, caring hands, healing hands, compassionate hands and trained hands. These represent the qualities we want to see in our health care professionals whether they are front-line members such as occupational therapists and addictions counselors or behind-the-scenes professionals such as pharmacy technicians.

“You wouldn’t allow just anyone to have your life in their hands” was one of the lines used in the 2014 campaign. And, it is a wonderful jump-off point to highlight the aforementioned qualities of all HSAA/NUPGE members.

New campaign will spotlight individual health sciences experts in TV ads and online

But now the campaign goes further by members’ story in an emotive fashion through spotlighting individual health sciences experts. This campaign accurately depicts HSAA/NUPGE members as professionals who not only bear skill and training but also compassion, humanity, kindness and a dignified strength.

This powerful message is being delivered to all corners of the province, and beyond, through broadcast television commercials, internet commercials delivered through YouTube as well as on the union's website and Facebook page. HSAA/NUPGE is also reinforcing the message by interacting with members and the public through Twitter and the union's new Instagram page. HSAA/NUPGE is proud to be providing a snapshot into the professional lives of a few of our members through documentary style videos available to watch on our Facebook page.
