B.C. health care workers thanked following crisis

Emergency response centre at Victoria General Hospital closed following the processing of all immigrants from Asian ship.

Victoria (18 Aug. 2010) - The Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) reports that the last patients from MV Sun Sea immigrant ship have been discharged and the emergency response centre at Victoria General Hospital has now been closed.

The health authority, joined by its three health care unions, issued a final joint bulletin thanking all health care workers for their assistance in delivering medical care during this international humanitarian emergency.
