BCGEU members ratify Freshwater Fisheries Society collective agreement

Improvements to collective agreement now in force.

Vancouver (28 May 2013) – Members of the B.C. Government and Service Employees Union (BCGEU/NUPGE) overwhelmingly ratified a new collective agreement with the Freshwater Fisheries Society.

The agreement is effective as of April 1, 2013 with an expiry date of December 31, 2015. Highlights of the settlement include wage increases of:

  • one per cent on April 1, 2013
  • 1.5 per cent on January 1, 2014 and
  • two per cent on January 1, 2015.

The settlement also includes improvements to child care, meal and mileage allowances and health and welfare allowances for auxiliary employees.
