Cities and towns proclaim Community Social Service Workers Appreciation Day

Help recognize the essential work of community social service workers!

Ottawa (29 Oct. 2013) - With over a week to go, municipalities across Canada are proclaiming November 6 as Community Social Service Workers Appreciation Day.

Support for Community Social Service Workers Appreciation Day keeps growing

Vancouver, North Bay, and Flin Flon are just some of the communities joining the two provinces and over 100 municipalities that have proclaimed November 6 as Community Social Service Workers Appreciation Day in previous years.

The CSS Appreciation Day was started by the National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE) in 2007. It is intended to raise the profile of workers in the sector and draw attention to the issues they face.
