Civil service bargaining continues for NSGEU members

More dates scheduled for negotiations in January 2013.

Halifax (21 Dec. 2012) — Members of the Nova Scotia Government & General Employees' Union (NSGEU/NUPGE) employed in the civil service have been negotiating toward a renewed collective agreement since October 2. On eight out of nine occasions, discussions have focused on non-monetary issues.

The bargaining committee has eight more days of negotiations scheduled in January 2013. Monetary issues will be discussed during these dates.

If a contract cannot be reached during this timeframe, the bargaining committee may refer outstanding issues to interest arbitration.
