Doctors to mark Canada Health Act 25th anniversary

Roy Romanow will be featured speaker at event held in conjunction with national Canadian Medical Association annual meeting.

Saskatoon (22 July 2009) - Canadian Doctors for Medicare (CDM) will host a special event Aug. 16 in Saskatoon to mark the 25th anniversary of the Canada Health Act.

The keynote speaker will be Roy Romanow, premier of Saskatchewan from 1991 to 2001. Romanow also headed the Royal Commission on the Future of Health Care in Canada, bringing down a landmark report in 2002.

The event is free and open to the public. It will be held in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) in Saskatoon.
