Layoffs coming to NBU health care members

NBU/NUPGE working to obtain details regarding layoffs at Horizon Health Network and Vitalité Health Network.

Fredericton (24 April 2013) – The New Brunswick Union (NBU/NUPGE) has been advised by both the Horizon Health Network and the Vitalité Health Network that there will be layoffs within the Paramedical and Specialized Health Care Professionals bargaining units.

The union was not advised of specific information as to how many members may be affected so it is working to obtain details. As informaton becomes available, NBU/NUPGE will inform members.

NBU/NUPGE understands that layoffs are a stressful situation for any member, and the union will work diligently to ensure that all articles under the collective agreement's layoff provisions are respected and enforced for any member affected.
