Moosehead Breweries laying off 70 workers at Saint John plant

“The members of Local 362 are dedicated to their work and the union’s main goal throughout this process is to work diligently with the employer to minimize the impact on our members and their families,” said NBU’s President, Susie Proulx-Daigle. 

logo for the New Brunswick Union (NBU)Fredericton (06 Oct. 2014) — Moosehead Breweries has announced the loss of an important contract; subsequently, 70 employees will be laid off at the production plant in Saint John, New Brunswick. 

NBU/NUPGE will be working hard to ensure members receive support and proper representation during this difficult process

The New Brunswick Union(NBU/NUPGE)  is saddened by these significant layoffs and the impact they will have on its members in Local 362. 

“The members of Local 362 are dedicated to their work and the union’s main goal throughout this process is to work diligently with the employer to minimize the impact on our members and their families,” said NBU President, Susie Proulx-Daigle. 

“We understand that layoffs are a very stressful situation for any member, and these affected members can be assured that our labour relations officers will work diligently with them and the employer to ensure proper union representation, and to make sure the collective agreements are respected."

The layoffs will take effect in June 2015.
