NAPE - Every day. For your day campaign highlights the quality work of public service members

"Wherever and whenever you need them, NAPE is there. Every day. For your day."

St. John's (11 May 2012) - The Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE/NUPGE) has launched a new campaign highlighting the important work public sector workers do to improve the lives of residents in every corner of the province everyday.

The campaign television, radio and newspaper ads - NAPE - Every Day. For your day - air as the majority of NAPE/NUPGE members in public sector bargaining units are bargaining with the provincial government.

To date, little progress has been made.

The stumbling block is the implementation of the new Job Evaluation System (JES). The affected public sector unions continue to meet with the government in an attempt to agree on an implementation process for the new system. This is proving to be difficult and time consuming.

As a result NAPE/NUPGE has indicated to government that the JES should be completed outside of the bargaining process. We are committed to reaching negotiated collective agreements that are satisfactory to the membership.
