OPSEU Mainstay Housing workers to hold information picket

OPSEU members rally in support of bargaining demands.

Toronto (22 June 2011) - Members of Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/NUPGE)  Local 540 Mainstay Housing in Toronto could be on strike as early as Thursday, June 30.

Members are at the bargaining table asking to be reimbursed the full cost of mileage when traveling during work as well as to be paid in wages instead of lieu time when working on-call beyond regularly scheduled hours of work up to 44 hours a week.

The information picket will take place at the Mainstay Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, June 22 at 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm at the YMCA, 20 Grosvenor (north-west corner of Yonge St. just south of Wellesley).

Supporters and members are encouraged to come out to show solidarity for these bargaining demands.
