Tentative agreement reached at the Freshwater Fisheries Society

Improvements made to collective agreement for BCGEU/NUPGE members.

Vancouver (16 April 2013) – The Freshwater Fisheries Society and the B.C. Government and Service Employees Union (BCGEU/NUPGE) reached a tentative agreement effective April 1, 2013 with an expiry date of December 31, 2015.

Highlights of the settlement include wage increases of: one per cent on April 1, 2013; 1.5 per cent on January 1, 2014; and two per cent on January 1, 2015.

As well, gain sharing will continue. The settlement also includes improvements to child care, meal and mileage allowances and health and welfare allowances for auxiliary employees.

In addition, members negotiated new language to address workplace bullying.
