Organizing drive continues as new groups vote to join HSAA

The Health Sciences Association of Alberta continues to add members in line with an organizing mandate given by delegates at its last convention. The union has welcomed several new groups of members to its growing ranks and is holding meetings with others.

Votes supervised by the Alberta Labour Relations Board

HSAA has announced that it has added several new groups of members to its ranks. "As a result of votes supervised by the Alberta Labour Relations Board (ALRB), Innisfail and Lacombe community professional and technical employees are the latest health care workers to be represented by HSAA," the union says. "These two groups join Consort, Bremner Avenue community, and Eckville community professionals, who have also recently joined HSAA," it adds. "Applications for certification have been submitted to the ALRB for Stettler Hospital professionals, Red Deer 49 Street community professionals, Sylvan Lake community professional and technical employees, and East Central Ambulance Association employees who work in Consort, Coronation, and Castor." HSAA says meetings are also being scheduled with several other non-union employees who work in the David Thompson Health Region.
