Agreement ratified for MGEU members at the NCN Family & Community Wellness Centre

Renewed agreement brings improvements to working conditions and wages.

Winnipeg (11 July 2012) - Members of the Manitboa Government and General Employees Union (MGEU/NUPGE) employed by the Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation (NCN)Family & Community Wellness Centre in Thompson, Manitoba ratified their next collective agreement at the end of June. Members voted unanimously to accept the new four-year agreement which includes new language providing job security (full-time and part-time guaranteed hours) and seniority rights, wage increases of six per cent for 2012, 2.9 per cent for 2013, 2.9 per cent for 2014, as well as an increase to shift premiums.

The MGEU/NUPGE bargaining committee will be finalizing and signing the agreement with the employer before it’s printed and distributed to members. Members are encouraged to contact the union's Resource Centre to ensure their contact information is up-to-date.
