Bargaining committee looking for strong strike mandate for conciliation talks with Université Sainte-Anne

Issues of adequate wages and pension remain outstanding.

Halifax (15 Feb. 2013) - Negotiations between members of the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union (NSGEU/NUPGE) and the Université Sainte-Anne continue to make slow progress.

In hopes to move bargaining ahead more quickly, in late January the union applied for the assistance of a conciliation officer. A concilation meeting is scheduled for February 19.

The bargaining committee is looking for a strong strike mandate as they head into this meeting.

Information sessions and voting took place on February 13 and 14. NSGEU/NUPGE members working at other campuses other than Church Point and Halifax will receive voting details by mail.

The serious issues of wages and pensions remain outstanding.
