CBS bargaining backed by strike mandate

Members hope strike vote brings employer back to barganing table.

Winnipeg (13 Feb. 2013) - Workers employed by the Canadian Blood Services voted in favour of a strike mandate on February 7.

The Manitoba Government and General Employees' Union (MGEU/NUPGE) which represents the 118 members will now be contacting the employer to see whether they would be willing to go back to the bargaining table in light of a strike mandate from the membership.

If the employer decides not to return to the table, the bargaining committee will then move to set a strike date.
