CMHA Thunder Bay Branch ratify first collective agreement

Improvements to working conditions ratified in first contract by mental health workers.

Toronto (10 April 2013) – Members of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/NUPGE) who work for the Canadian Mental Health Association - Thunder Bay Branch ratified their first collective agreement.

Newly-organized in August of 2012, these members support individuals through recovery and promoting mental wellness by providing service in the area of Early Psychosis Intervention, Crisis Response Services (phone, mobile, crisis bed), Court Programs (diversion, case management), Skills Development, Housing Supports, and Case Management as well as Education and Support.

The members have nothing but praise for the staff and members that assisted them through their journey and say it has been a reflection of the inclusive community they believe in.
