Deal reached for HSAA members in talks with CapitalCare

Members to vote on tentative agreement at CapitalCare.

logo for the Health Sciences Association of Alberta (HSAA on top in blue with yellow streak running through and name below)Edmonton (06 June 2012) - The Health Sciences Association of Alberta (HSAA/NUPGE) bargaining committee is recommending acceptance of the recent tentative agreement reached with CapitalCare on May 23.

The new three-year agreement contains improvements such as increases to mileage rates, expansion of bereavement leave language to include aunt, uncle, niece and nephew, increases to the paramedical coverage as well as an increase of 50 cents to the temporary assignment pay. Members will also receive one lump sum payment of $500.

HSAA/NUPGE members will be voting in two ways: e-voting and mail-in ballot. Those members who havegiven the union their personal email address will be provided with an email containing  instructions and a link in order to vote. All other members will receive a mail-in ballot.

The new contract will expire on March 31, 2014.
