Collective agreement brings wages up, establishes fair working conditions and procedures in the workplace.
Toronto (07 July 2014) — Following almost two years of bargaining, members of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/NUPGE) employed at CML/Lifelabs ratified their first collective agreement. The members voted to accept this tentative agreement after rejecting the initial settlement reached in March 2014.
Members negotiated a 10.37 per cent and 7.39 per cent wage increase for a majority of the employees, a 2.5 per cent retroactive payment and a 2.5 per cent signing bonus. The collective agreement will contain a six step wage grid, a grievance procedure, job posting language and layoff and recall language.
