Heroes unmasked: recognizing NSGEU/NUPGE members

"We look forward to receiving your nominations, and hearing all about your awesome co-workers! Thank you for the work that you do on behalf of all Nova Scotians."

Halifax (15 Oct. 2021) — The Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union (NSGEU/NUPGE) has launched a special project called Heroes Unmasked. The project is inspired by the actions of NSGEU/NUPGE members over the last 18 months of the COVID-19 pandemic, through the horrific mass shooting in Portapique, and a host of other tragic events. Through it all, Nova Scotians have done what they do best: support and care for one another. And the NSGEU/NUPGE is no exception!

Search is on for NSGEU/NUPGE heroes

As a way to recognize the extraordinary efforts of NSGEU/NUPGE members, the union is calling for nominations of those who have gone above and beyond since March 2020. The union is looking for people who have done exceptional jobs, either at work or in the community, and who deserve to be featured in the upcoming NSGEU/NUPGE campaign! Nominations can be from all different occupational groupings, not just health care!

Nominations will be reviewed by a committee at the NSGEU/NUPGE, and anyone chosen for the campaign will receive a prize package and will be featured in the province-wide campaign to highlight just how amazing NSGEU/NUPGE members are!

Nominations due on October 15

Any NSGEU/NUPGE member who completes the nomination form will also be entered into a draw for a chance to win 1 of 2 VISA gift cards of $500 each. Nomination forms must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, October 15. Members may nominate more than one person, but the nominator will only receive one entry into the prize draw.

"We look forward to receiving your nominations, and hearing all about your awesome coworkers!," says the nomination call. "Thank you for the work that you do on behalf of all Nova Scotians."
