Increased revenue measures in NB budget will allow for everyone to pay their fair share

“We believe that in this time of economic recovery, we all have a role to play and the burden should not rest solely on the public sector." - Susie Proulx-Daigle, NB Union President.

Fredericton (05 April 2013) – The New Brunswick Union (NBU/NUPGE) commends the provincial government on its corporate tax and personal income tax measures which were introduced in the 2013-2014 budget and strongly urges the government to re-invest in public services.

“We believe that in this time of economic recovery, we all have a role to play and the burden should not rest solely on the public sector,” said NB Union President, Susie Proulx-Daigle. “The New Brunswick Union believes this progressive tax system works towards narrowing the gap and allows for everyone to pay their fair share.”

“The cuts in revenue generation over the last few years have greatly impacted many of the public services that our members work hard to provide and we are glad to see that the government has recognized that we cannot cut our way into prosperity."
