MGEU launches ads to recognize MDC members

'The recognition that these programs have received underscores the important services our members provide at MDC every day.' - Peter Olfert.

Peter Olfert, president of the Manitoba Government and General Employees' Union (MGEU/NUPGE)Winnipeg (23 March 2010) - The programs and staff at the Manitoba Developmental Centre (MDC) were given a rating recently of 98% for outstanding service to clients.

The rating was bestowed by the Council on Accreditation, an independent, non-profit rating agency that accredits facilities providing services to people with developmental disabilities.

To get the word out about this important designation and to say thanks and congratulations to everyone involved for doing such great work, the Manitoba Government and General Employees' Union (MGEU/NUPGE) is launching a radio ad campaign.

“The recognition that these programs have received underscores the important services our members provide at MDC every day,” says MGEU president Peter Olfert.

“We hope this ad campaign will help get the word out so that other Manitobans can hear about the great work our members are doing for MDC clients and their families.”

The advertisements run this week then resume for two weeks beginning in April.
