New contract for Manitoba Liquor Control Commission workers

Ratification approved following province-wide vote

Winnipeg (15 Nov. 2006) - Employees of the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission (MLCC) have ratified a new three-year collective agreement.

The workers are members of the Golico component of the Manitoba Government and General Employees Union (MGEU/NUPGE). Information meetings and voting sessions were conducted by the union in all areas of the province. Employees also had the option of voting by mail-in ballot.

The agreement follows a particularly difficult and lengthy round of negotiations.

"The committee is pleased that a significant majority of members voted to accept the agreement," the union says.

"The committee has informed the employer of the ratification, and is urging them to process retroactive payments as quickly as possible." NUPGE
