NSGEU civil service members reach a tentative agreement

The tentative agreement will now go to the membership for a mail-in vote. The union expects to count the vote on July 29.

Halifax (12 July 2013) – A tentative agreement was reached by civil service members of the Nova Scotia Government & General Employees Union (NSGEU/NUPGE) and the Public Service Commission on July 9.

New contract recommended to members

“We are pleased the bargaining committee was able to reach an agreement they felt they could recommend to the membership,” says Joan Jessome, NSGEU President. “The bargaining committee and negotiators have worked hard on behalf of the membership.”

The tentative agreement will now go to the membership for a mail-in vote. The union expects to count the vote on July 29.

The union will not be releasing any details until the membership has received copies of the tentative agreement which are currently being mailed out.
