“We are pleased to have reached this agreement with the NSCC,” says NSGEU President Joan Jessome. “The Local 267 Bargaining Committee and their chief negotiator Art Beaver worked hard to achieve improvements that were important to the membership.”

Voting took place at NSCC campuses across the province and votes were counted on Friday.

The three-year collective agreement will be in effect from April 1, 2012 until March 31, 2015.

The agreement includes wage increases of 2% in 2013, 2.5% in 2014 and 3% in 2015 as well as improvements in shift premiums, standby pay, and language relating to grievance time and meal breaks.
