NSGEU gears up for new contract talks with CDHA

Proposals will be exchanged on June 11 and bargaining begins on June 30.

Halifax (28 May 2010) - The Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union (NSGEU/NUPGE) is gearing up for a new round of bargaining with the Capital District Health Authority (CDHA).

The previous nursing collective agreement expired last Oct. 31 and the union's bargaining committee has been working hard to formulate bargaining proposals for the new round of negotiations.

The two sides are scheduled to exchange proposals on June 11 and the first day of bargaining is set for June 30.

"Once proposals are exchanged with the employer, a copy of the union’s bargaining proposals will be sent to each member," NSGEU says in an update to members.

"The Union anticipates that this will be a lively round of collective bargaining for Local 97. The bargaining committee is looking forward to working on and achieving improvements to your collective agreement."
