NSGEU members encouraged to enter contest for design of human rights flag

Winner of flag design contest will receive $200 VISA gift card.

Halifax (13 Sept. 2017) — The Human Rights Committee of the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees' Union (NSGEU/NUPGE) is asking its members to help with the design for a Human Rights flag. The union is looking for a symbol or picture that best describes the following:

“Human rights are rights inherent to all human beings, whatever our nationality, place of residence, national or ethical origin, color, religion, language, or any other status. We are all equally entitled to our human rights without discrimination. These rights are all interrelated, interdependent and indivisible.”

The contest runs from September 11 to October 6, with the presentationl of the flag on Human Rights Day, December 10th.

The winner will be picked by the NSGEU Executive Team and awarded a $200.00 Visa gift card.

All submissions should be emailed to melissa.marsman525@gmail.com, with the subject line Human Rights Flag. NSGEU/NUPGE members should include your name, phone number and local number.
