NSGEU members at Mount St. Vincent reach tentative agreement

Support workers ratify contract at Mount St. Vincent.

Halifax (31 Jan. 2013) — A new collective agreement has been ratified by members of the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union (NSGEU/NUPGE) who work as support staff at Mount St. Vincent University.

“Congratulations to the bargaining committee and Chief Negotiator, Tina Webber, who worked hard to reach this agreement with the employer,” says Joan Jessome, NSGEU President.

The vote was 93 per cent in favour of the tentative agreement reached on January 18.

The NSGEU/NUPGE members provide support services for Mount St. Vincent University. They work in the Bookstore, Registrar’s Office, Facilities management, Financial Services, IT Services, Library, Athletics and Recreation, the Print Shop, and many other departments at the university.
