Orientation for OPSEU local presidents March 8-9

'Practical leadership responses to everyday situations through group work and interaction.'

Toronto (18 Jan. 2011) - The Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/NUPGE) will hold a two-day orientation workshop for newly elected local presidents March 8-9 at the union's offices in Toronto.

Day one will focus on OPSEU’s organizational structure, systems and resources and provide training on building an involved membership through effective union stewards, contract enforcement, bargaining and equity as an everyday local issue.

Day two will focus on mobilizing members through health and safety, effective communication, inclusive leadership, effective local by-laws and a strategic approach to employer tactics.

"We will explore practical leadership responses to everyday situations through group work and interaction with the other local presidents," OPSEU says.

Full details are available on the OPSEU website at the link below.
