PEIUPSE convention Nov. 13-14 in Charlottetown

Larry Brown to address delegates on 'pension protection and retirement income security.'

Slelley Ward, president of the P.E.I. Union of Public Sector Employees (PEIUPSE/NUPGE)Charlottetown (28 Oct. 2009) - The 48th annual convention of the Prince Edward Island Union of Public Sector Employees (PEIUPSE/NUPGE) will be held Nov. 13-14 at the Delta Prince Edward Hotel in Charlottetown.

The convention will open with an address to delegates by union president Shelley Ward and it will include an important presentation on 'pension protection and retirement income security' by Larry Brown, national secretary-treasurer of the National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE).

Also included on the agenda are presentations on harassment and bullying in the workplace, on operators, transportation and public works and on the Public Sector Employees Group Insurance Plan - Three Years of Success.

The guest speaker at this year's convention will be Carol Furlong, president of the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE/NUPGE).
