Solidarity Rally for workers at Family and Children’s Services of Renfrew County

Show your solidarity for the workers who have been unfairly suspended by the Family and Children's Services of Renfrew Country!

Toronto (09 Jan. 2023) — The Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/SEFPO/NUPGE) Local 459 members who work at Family and Children’s Services of Renfrew County will be holding a rally on January 13 to show solidarity with 9 OPSEU/SEFPO/NUPGE members who have been unfairly suspended by their employer.

These 9 dedicated workers successfully fought against mass layoffs last year and advocated for pay equity. They are the backbone of the organization and are now being unjustly targeted by their employer.

Date: January 13, 2023

Time: 11:30 am

Location: 77 Mary St., Pembroke ON

You can show your solidarity by joining the rally to demand that the employer immediately reverse the suspension of these staff!

NUPGE

The National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE) is one of Canada's largest labour organizations with over 425,000 members. Our mission is to improve the lives of working families and to build a stronger Canada by ensuring our common wealth is used for the common good.

While our Components are located from coast to coast, the office of the National Union of Public and General Employees is situated on the traditional unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabeg people and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities.

We recognize and acknowledge the crimes that have been committed and the harm that has been done.

And, we dedicate ourselves, as a union, to moving forward in partnership with Indigenous Peoples in a spirit of reconciliation and striving for justice. — NUPGE
