Winnipeg (2 Feb. 2011) - Negotiations resume today for 14,000 Manitoba public employees following their rejection last month of a tentative settlement reached late last year.
"The civil service bargaining committee contacted the government to return to the bargaining table," the Manitoba Government and General Employees' Union (MGEU/NUPGE) says in an update posted on its website.
"Over the past several days, the committee has been preparing a package that reflects the direction of the membership. On Wednesday, Feb. 2, negotiations will resume and the committee will present this updated package to the employer," MGEU reports.
"The committee will continue to post updates (on its website) as information becomes available."
