Tentative contract for Niagara parks employees

Settlement achieved after one day of conciliation assistance.

Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/NUPGE)Niagara Falls (18 Jan. 2010) - A tentative agreement has been reached with the Niagara Parks Commission (NPC) and approximately 600 parks employees, represented by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/NUPGE).

The settlement, subject to ratification, was negotiated after only one day of talks with the help of a conciliator. A ratification vote has been scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 21. The NPC will review the agreement at a regularly scheduled meeting on Friday, Jan. 22. No details will be released until then. If ratified the agreement would be retroactive to Nov. 1, 2009.
