Time to speak up for public services in pre-budget planning period

Winnipeg (17 Dec. 2021) — Over the next several weeks, the Manitoba Government and General Employees' Union (MGEU/NUPGE) is calling on members and Manitobans to voice their support for more investment in our public services in the next provincial budget.

“The Finance Minister is currently asking Manitobans about their priorities for the next budget through an online survey and a series of in-person meetings across the province,” said Kyle Ross, MGEU President. “It’s important he hears from as many of us as possible that cuts and privatization are not the answer. We need this government to invest in our public services and public programs, not cut them.”

The province has a few options for Manitobans to provide their budget priorities to the government. The MGEU/NUPGE is calling on Manitobans to take at least one of the actions below and, and in whatever action they take remind the government to invest in our public services, instead of cutting and privatizing
