'Voluntary Exit Program' an insult, says HSAA

'It's not worth the paper it's written on. - Elisabeth Ballermann.

Elisabeth Ballermann, president of the Health Sciences Association of Alberta (HSAA/NUPGE)Edmonton (22 Sept. 2009) - The Health Sciences Association of Alberta (HSAA/NUPGE) has condemned a Voluntary Exit Plan put forward by Alberta Health Services (AHS) to encourage voluntary severance.

HSAA president Elisabeth Ballermann calls the package an insult to the province's health professionals.

"AHS has offered our members a voluntary severance package that pales in comparison to the money they're throwing at their managers," says Ballermann. "It's not worth the paper it's written on."

AHS has scheduled meetings with other health care unions to discuss the issue.
