Dr. Hassan Diab is being held in a jail in France for a crime he did not commit. Diab’s finger prints, palm prints, physical description, and handwriting do not match those of the suspect. Furthermore, French investigating judges have confirmed that he was not even in France at the time of the bombing. Diab has consistently denied involvement and condemned the violence.

The Indigenous Circle collected over 1,000 signatures during the 2017 OPSEU Convention and they continue to collect petitions that are being introduced at Queen’s Park.

As the Canadian government introduces an amendment to the Human Rights Act to make it illegal to discriminate against anyone based on gender identity and expression, the National Union wants to remind everyone on International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia that this is a struggle that we all need to be engaged in. NUPGE calls on Ottawa to ensure there is funding to build public clinics across the country.
