BCGEU signs agreements on Olympic secondments

Hundreds of provincial employees expected to be called into service during 2010 Games.

Vancouver (5 Oct. 2009) - The British Columbia Government and Service Employees' Union (BCGEU/NUPGE) has negotiated two agreements for members expected to be seconded to temporary positions and reassignments related to the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

The agreements were reached in August with the B.C. Public Service Agency (PSA).

"The memorandums for secondments to the Olympic Games Secretariat (OGS) and the Vancouver Organizing Committee (VANOC) will provide seconded members with terms and conditions appropriate for the postings," the union says.

The documents are available on the BCGEU website.
