Fundraiser held for striking workers at Homes First

Help send a strong message to the employer at Homes First to get back to the table to negotiate a fair and decent contract.

Toronto (14 March 2013) – Striking members of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/NUPGE) employed by Homes First will be hosting their own fundraiser on March 21 to coincide with their employer's annual fundraiser.

The members hope to send a strong message that it's time get their frontline staff back to work providing services to our community. Toronto has a critical shortage of services for the homeless. It is urgent that we get back to providing the quality care and services that Toronto's homeless need.

The event will take place on March 21 from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. at the Augusta House, 152 Augusta Ave., in Kensington Market. There will be music, comedy, prizes and a silent auction.

Organizers are asking supporters to confirm attendance with e-vite and or at the event Facebook page.
