MGEU members at Impark meter department ratify first contract

Workers in the Impark Meter Department will now have access to a grievance procedure, ability to negotiate improvements to wages and benefits, and many other improvements with this first contract.

Winnipeg (11 Jan. 2016) — Members of the Manitoba Government and General Employees' Union (MGEU/NUPGE) who work in the Meter Department for Impark have ratified their first collective agreement. The agreement will run from January 26, 2015 (date of certification) until April 30, 2016.

MGEU/NUPGE members negotiate improvements to working conditions

The new agreement defines hours of work, the grievance procedure, working conditions and respectful workplace procedures. Other contract improvements include wage increases, an on-call premium, training allowance, and personal absence days.

The MGEU/NUPGE will now be working with the employer to finalize the agreement in order to get the contract signed, printed and into members' hands as soon as possible.

In the meantime, affected members are encouraged to update their contact information to ensure they receive a copy of the new contract once available.
