Operation Maple: an alternative to mainstream news

An informed citizenry is key to protecting our rights and freedoms, and Operation Maple has its finger on the pulse of the ever-changing political landscape across Canada.

Ottawa (03 April 2014) — Operation Maple is an online news source committed to giving Canadians important stories that are not reported in mainstream media.

It focuses on information sharing through videos, editorials and commentaries as well as full- and short-length articles. Operation Maple aims to critique the current power structures, reimagine the political landscape, and reignite the passion of other concerned citizens. It has taken on issues such as inadequate funding for developmental services and home care services, exposed cracks in our occupational health and safety laws, as well as shining a light on harmful environmental projects.  It has showcased the importance of public services in creating more equal society and it has raised the alarm bell to many of the attacks on our democracy and the need for a strong opposition.

An informed citizenry is key to protecting our rights and freedoms, and Operation Maple has its finger on the pulse of the ever-changing political landscape across Canada.

The National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE) is a supporter of Operation Maple as an alternative to the mainstream media.
