OPSEU reaches tentative first agreement with St. Elizabeth-Peel Crisis

Second bargaining unit at St. Elizabeth Healthcare to vote on agreement.

Toronto (21 Oct. 2013) - Members of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/NUPGE) at Peel Crisis have reached a tentative first agreement with St. Elizabeth Healthcare. It is only the second bargaining unit at the not-for-profit organization to do so.

First collective agreement sets baseline to build upon in future years

The one-year deal establishes a basic agreement that the membership can now begin to build upon in successive rounds of bargaining. That agreement includes a one per cent pay raise retroactive to April 1, 2013.

Staff at Peel Crisis offer a wide range of supports to individuals seeking help during a mental health crisis, including telephone and mobile crisis teams.

The more than 30 OPSEU/NUPGE members are invited to ratify the agreement by casting a ballot between 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Wednesday August 21 at the Mississauga Radisson Hotel, 175 Derry Road East.

Details of the agreement will be sent out to members before that meeting. Staff will also be on hand to answer questions.
