MGEU is one of the event's main sponsors. 'A great way to support of social justice and human rights,' union says.
Winnipeg (3 June 2009) - The Manitoba Government and General Employees' Union (MGEU/NUPGE) is supporting the eighth annual Run for Rights this Saturday in Winnipeg.
The 5Km and 10Km event, which offers participants a choice of running, walking, cycling or rollerblading, "is a great way for MGEU members to get some exercise or warm up for the Manitoba marathon in support of social justice and human right," MGEU says.
"As a major sponsor of the 2009 Run for Rights, the MGEU will help organize the event and raise funds by encouraging members to complete a 5K or 10km route, which stretches along Scotia Street from Kildonan Park to St. John’s Park in Winnipeg. The event begins at 9:30 a.m. (Registration is from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.)."
Participants are encouraged to collect pledges on behalf of a long list of organizations supported by the run. Complete information is available at the links below.
