The meeting marked the first time Smith, in her role as BCGEU President, has met with the premier.

“The meeting was high level and productive. We discussed a variety of general issues of mutual concern. I was happy to hear the premier say that BCGEU/NUPGE members are the engine that drives government,” said Smith.

Smith said she was encouraged to hear the premier speak of a commitment to openness, working together and relationship building to better protect public services and the jobs of BCGEU/NUPGE members.
