Productive first meeting for BCGEU President and B.C. Premier.
Vancouver (08 July 2014) — The President of the B.C. Government and General Employees' Union (BCGEU/NUPGE) Stephanie Smith met with Premier Christy Clark in Vancouver on July 7.
The meeting marked the first time Smith, in her role as BCGEU President, has met with the premier.
“The meeting was high level and productive. We discussed a variety of general issues of mutual concern. I was happy to hear the premier say that BCGEU/NUPGE members are the engine that drives government,” said Smith.
Smith said she was encouraged to hear the premier speak of a commitment to openness, working together and relationship building to better protect public services and the jobs of BCGEU/NUPGE members.
