Former NBUPPE officer Shirley Paulin has died at 37

'Our deepest sympathies and thoughts go to Shirley’s family and close friends. We missed her when she made a career move to Ottawa. We miss her even more in her passing.'

Shirley PaulinFredericton (26 Aug. 2009) - Shirley Paulin, a former young and enthusiastic labour relations officer with the N.B. Union of Public and Private Employees (NBUPPE/NUPGE), has died accidentally at age 37.

"She used her passion and legal training to help our members with a certain flair and much determination," the union says in a notice posted on its website.

"As one co-worker commented, 'Shirley was a firecracker.' Our deepest sympathies and thoughts go to Shirley’s family and close friends. We missed her when she made a career move to Ottawa. We miss her even more in her passing."

Formerly of Lameque, N.B., Paulin was born June 17, 1972.  She was living in Orleans, east of Ottawa, pursuing her career as an employment relations officer with the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC), when she passed away on Aug. 17. Funeral services were held Aug. 21 in Lameque.
