NSGEU health care workers at IWK reach tentative agreement

Members negotiate wage and other working condition improvements in tentative agreement.

Halifax (12 April 2013) – A tentative agreement has been reached between members of the Nova Scotia Government & General Employees Union (NSGEU/NUPGE) and the IWK Health Centre.

The key issue of job security was resolved and the Bargaining Committee is recommending acceptance of the tentative agreement, which provides for wage increases of two per cent, 2.5 per cent and three per cent over a three-year period, as well as other improvements.

The union will be sending a package with the full details of the tentative agreement as well as a mail-in ballot to the membership early next week. Voting instructions will be included in the package.
