SGEU donates $20,000 to Food Banks of Saskatchewan

“We are proud to partner with the Food Banks of Saskatchewan to help make the holidays a little brighter and more hopeful. I encourage all those who are able, to make a donation during the festive season and throughout the coming year.” — Tracey Sauer, SGEU President

Regina (16 Dec. 2021) —The Saskatchewan Government and General Employees’ Union (SGEU/NUPGE) has contributed $20,000 to the Food Banks of Saskatchewan’s Feeding Holiday Cheer campaign.

Times are difficult all year long, not just at the holidays

“SGEU/NUPGE members understand that many families struggle to put food on the table not only during the holidays but all year long,” said Tracey Sauer, President of SGEU. “As a provincial labour organization committed to helping make life better for the people who live and work in our province, we are pleased to support the Food Banks of Saskatchewan with a donation.”

Michael Kincade, Executive Director of the Food Banks of Saskatchewan, commended the SGEU/NUPGE on their generous gift that will help support families and individuals facing food insecurity across the province. “It’s nice to see that an organization like SGEU/NUPGE recognizes the struggle many people are experiencing, especially during the holiday season,” Kincade said. “The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has made it even more difficult for many this year, and partnerships like this demonstrate the impact we can make when we work together to address hunger in our communities.”
