UPSE encourages members to attend rally opposing changes to EI

The rally is about changes to the Employment Insurance system - changes that are hurting Islanders.

Charlottetown (25 Oct. 2012) - The Prince Edward Island Union of Public Sector Employees (PEIUPSE/NUPGE) is encouraging it's members to participate in a rally taking place on Saturday, October 27, at 1:00 p.m. in Summerside outside of Gail Shea’s (Minister of National Revenue) office.

The rally is about changes to the Employment Insurance system - changes that are hurting Islanders.

UPSE/NUPGE says that it is "important that we get as many members as possible out to the rally. We need to send a message to Prime Minister Harper that cuts to this region and province are hurting the economy."

Organizers are seeing strong community support for this rally and are further encouraged by the possibility of a large union presence.
