The National Union of Public and General Employees is mourning the death of a 24-year-old Alberta wildland firefighter.

‘On behalf of our 425,000 members we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues,” said Bert Blundon, NUPGE President.

“This is a sad reminder of the dangers these workers face everyday. These workers need to be provided the best equipment, training and support possible. They deserve safer workplaces and our gratitude.”
