NAPE members at the College of the North Atlantic ratify new agreement

Lengthy round of bargaining concludes with a collective agreement on par with that of other public sector workers.

St. John's (16 Dec. 2014)  Voting for the faculty bargaining unit at the College of the North Atlantic (CNA), who are members of the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE/NUPGE), has concluded. Votes took place province-wide last week.

NAPE/NUPGE members reach contract with improvements similar to contracts of other public sector workers

NAPE/NUPGE faculty members at CNA voted in favour of accepting the agreement. The agreement is based on the template agreement for other public sector workers.

“This has been a long and arduous round of bargaining,” said NAPE President Carol Furlong. “We will now work to get the agreement signed as quickly as possible.”

NAPE/NUPGE represents over 650 Faculty members at CNA across the province.

The new agreement is effective as of September 1, 2012, and is set to expire on August 31, 2016.
