New Brunswick Union helps increase blood donations

“Helping our communities doesn’t stop with our members. Every day, thousands of people are in need of blood, we can all play our part.” said NB Union President, Susie Proulx-Daigle.

Fredericton (14 Feb. 2013) - The New Brunswick Union (NBU/NUPGE) has recently partnered with Canadian Blood Services and joined their “Partners for Life” program.

Canadian Blood Services is proud to work with hundreds of corporations and community organizations nationwide each year in support of their "Partners for Life" program. As members of this life saving program, companies, government agencies, community groups, schools, service clubs, faith organizations and many others demonstrate their commitment to saving lives through donating blood, platelets and plasma.

“Helping our communities doesn’t stop with our members. Every day, thousands of people are in need of blood, we can all play our part.” said NB Union President, Susie Proulx-Daigle. “Together, we can make a difference; by simply donating blood in NB Union’s name”.

For 2013, New Brunswick Union has pledged to donate 25 units of blood to help save lives. Anyone who gives blood can put his or her unit of blood towards NB Union’s pledge, even if you are a regular blood donor, have not donated in a while or have never donated blood.

For members in New Brunswick, interested in donating blood in New Brunswick Union’s name, fill out the registration form before your next blood donation or register in person during your next visit. Use the Partner ID to make sure the donation goes towards New Brunswick Union - NEWB013694.

If you have made a blood donation since January 1, 2013, the pledge can be retroactive. Simply contact Canadian Blood Service with the Partner ID above.

Help us make our communities stronger and healthier!
