OPSEU welcomes 300 new paramedical members at Scarborough and Rouge Hospital

We’re confident each and every member will find a home in OPSEU/NUPGE as they join more than 25,000 members in our Hospital Professionals Division.” — Warren (Smokey) Thomas, OPSEU President

Toronto (07 June 2018) — We are pleased to announce that all allied health professionals at the Scarborough and Rouge Hospital will now be represented by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/NUPGE).

OPSEU/NUPGE the union of choice for hospital professionals

“On behalf of OPSEU’s entire Executive Board, I am delighted to welcome these 300 paramedical professionals into our family,” said Warren (Smokey) Thomas, OPSEU President. “We’re confident each and every member will find a home in OPSEU/NUPGE as they join more than 25,000 members in our Hospital Professionals Division.”

Last month, the Ontario Labour Relations Board issued its final decision regarding the composition of the new OPSEU/NUPGE paramedical bargaining unit, which covers all allied health professionals, including the former non-unionized staff and the paramedical staff previously represented by CUPE.

OPSEU/NUPGE has represented hospital professionals across Ontario for close to 50 years.

“OPSEU/NUPGE is undoubtedly the union of choice for Ontario’s health professionals,” said Sara Labelle, Chair of OPSEU’s Hospital Professionals Division. “OPSEU/NUPGE has the knowledge and experience to provide the best representation and service. With OPSEU/NUPGE, you’ll have a strong voice in your workplace, and in the province.”
